Generally speaking, solid colors that create contrast for your image render great results; but while this is sensible and safe advice, the goal for your photos is to help communicate your strengths and who YOU are. Whatever is unique to how you "show up" and present yourself to your prospects is really the best wardrobe to use. I prefer that you bring several wardrobe options that you feel confident in and love how you look in to your session and I take it upon myself to help you choose and create the best composition that fits your objectives . Different people have different goals, so I don't take a cookie-cutter approach.
WHAT DO I DO ABOUT HAIR AND MAKEUP?
I recommend that you style your hair and makeup in the way that you normally would when meeting your ideal client face-to-face. If you are every-day glam, then rock it in your headshot. If you're not, then opt for a natural look. The rule of thumb is to present the genuine you. If you don't feel confident doing your own hair and makeup, I work with some talented makeup artists who are available to come to my studio for your session and provide their services. CAN I REVIEW MY IMAGES DURING MY SHOOT?
Absolutely. I shoot in digital format for this exact convenience. It's important for me that you see your images so that you can leave your photo session confident in the results.
DO YOU SHOOT OUTDOORS OR IN A STUDIO WITH FLASH?
The most dependable space for us to shoot in is my studio where I've set up the ideal conditions for you to have a comfortable photoshoot unaffected by weather and where my equipment is precisely set up to create the wonderful lighting you see in my photos. Can I shoot outdoors or any other location? Of course! With proper planning we can shoot anywhere.
WHAT BACKGROUND OPTIONS DO YOU OFFER?
While neutral backgrounds are best for corporate and theatrical headshots, I am not limited to just black, grey or white. I offer a wide variety of options and moods. The color and vibe must simply meet the purpose for which you'll be using your headshots. The important thing is that I will make the background be a background and not distract from you being front and center.
